Write for us
We welcome thoughtful pitches about how screen stories are made, read and heard. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a finished article without an agreed brief.
Ideas we welcome
Pitch a focused piece about visual language, editing, sound, story forms or screen history. Strong ideas begin with a question readers can follow, use a clear example or comparison, and explain why the subject is worth a closer look.
What to include
Tell us your proposed angle, the main point you hope to make, the examples you would use and a short note about your approach. Mention any relevant interests or connections to the subject. Keep the proposal concise and specific.
How to send a pitch
Choose the writing proposal option in the Contact form and include your pitch in the message. We consider ideas for clarity, originality, reader value and fit with the publication. Please wait for agreement on a brief before drafting a full piece.
Every screen choice guides attention
A frame, a pause or a sound can change what a scene asks us to notice. We break down those choices in clear language, leaving room for different readings.
